Moonshadow Baked Palettes - In The Tropics by Sephora

Hello! This is Victoria, a friend of Marie's in New York! I did the review on the Naked palettes not too long ago. Today, I wanted to do a review on a palette I recently bought from the Sephora line, called Sephora's Moonshadow Baked Palettes - In The Tropics. It is currently on sale on the Sephora website for about $15, originally sold for $27, and includes 10 shadow colors (I will list them starting from the top left in clockwise order) Peru, Belize, Barbados, Seychelles, St. Vincent, St. Lucia, Martinique, Fiji, Bermuda, and Grenada.

I haven't had this palette for a while, the packaging is pretty and simple and could withstand bumps, it has a snap closure that may be difficult to open up but it's better than having a magnetic closure like the Naked palette had in my first review. So it is definitely luggage-safe! The colors in this palette are quite different from each other so I like to use three at a time for each day. My favorite three to use at the same time are Seychelles (light beige/brown), St. Vincent (sparkly off-white), and St. Lucia (kind of like a moon gray). All of the eyeshadows are very sparkly and I don't recommend them if you're looking for a matte look. The Grenada color at the bottom left is a very dark purple, almost like a black, and I would really only recommended if you were going to wear it close to the lash line, like an eyeliner.

All of the eyeshadows last throughout the day, but I have not yet tried them on without a primer underneath on my eyelids. Granada, Bermuda, and Fiji are three purple-ish colors that would look terrific paired together! My least favorite color is most likely the Peru color, the first color on the top left. It is a dark sparkly green that is way different than any of the other colors in the palette, so I can't really pair that color with any other colors in the palette, nevertheless it is a pretty color! Belize, Martinique and Barbados are the three colors that have an orange/gold tint to them, and look absolutely stunning paired together.

The eyeshadows in the compact would suit any skin tone, and are very versatile. Overall this makeup palette is very pretty and I'm sure I will use it for casual wear and for parties, but I would not pay the money for it if it was full priced at $27. If you do not like eyeshadows that have a lot of sparkle to them, I definitely do not recommend these eyeshadows. Also, I know many people that like to wet their eyeshadows for a more dramatic look and intense color, I do not usually do that, but I did attempt to do with these eyeshadows, but that did not seem to enhance the color of the shadows. If anyone would like to see what the shadows look like on my eyes, feel free to leave a comment below and I will ask Marie to post them for me!

Thank you very much for reading, I greatly appreciate it! I really hope to do more reviews in the future if you would like me to! comments

Nice selection of colors Marie. I don't know much of eye or any kind of make up.

I am not a big fan of cosmetics, but my daughter is. She would love the color palette because she favors earth tones over the "loud" colors. Thanks for sharing!

I love how they name the color after most of the Caribbean countries and territories (except Fuji). The girls would surely love to own this set. :)
